just when i thought my life couldn't
get any better ;-) ::: the bbc have officially
announced that they're bringing back doctor
who. oh happy freakin' exterminatin'
days R here again //
business
week have decided that they've solved the
problem of music piracy, and naturally it involves
the wonderous little iPod as the saviour of all
things.

ok, so in two weeks time i'm getting
married. which makes me insansely freakin' happy,
more so that i'm ever going to let loose in a
blog. the insanity of the organisation has just
about come to an end, to be replaced next week
by the insanity of family + friends arrival. i'm
going to be living upside down and back to front
for the next few weeks, and i'll post some photos
as we go obviously :-) here's
one of the very spot we've chosen for the ceremony
//
my current cultural recommendations include
a great film i saw on tuesday, raising
victor vargas. well work a look see. also
recommend that you check out the new albums from
t.raumschmiere,
peaches,
african
head charge and pole.
they've been clogging up the iPod for the last
week and deservedly so :::

my sister just sent me these pictures,
direct from david blaine's latest
escapade - going without food or tv for 45 days
or something, whilst suspended in a box above
the thames in london. more
of his patter here ::: as you can see, my
li'l nephew ahren seems particularly nonplussed

another week, another
playlist. must have been a busy week, as i
seem to have neglected mentioning anything else...
recommend you get your bandwidth gums
round the spod vs decoder ring
download on the triple-j
site. full of milky goodness. and
lo and behold - it seems that electro hip-hop
leg-end kurtis mantronix has
got his mitts all over the
new kylie album. dirty boy.
if u enjoy terrifying yourself of a morning,
read project censored's top
25 censored stories of the year, topped by
"Bush Planned Iraq 'regime change' before
becoming President", "US Illegally Removes
Pages from Iraq U.N. Report" and "Repackaging
Colonialism in Africa". for an alternative
viewpoint on recent events, switch off CNN and
bend yr head around this.

from
off the streets of cleveland... i went to see
american
splendor last night - i absolutely recommend
that you go and see this movie. it's all the things
that great movies should be - compelling, hilarious
and life-affirming with plenty of gags for nerds.
all this from a movie that tells a very ordinary
story about a very ordinary guy. if you've ever
wished that hollywood would produce more movies
that told real, honest stories without being dull
+ worthy, then get yr ass off the sofa and get
into the cinema. i recommend that you also roll
on over to the
blog of harvey pekar - the real-life inspiration
for this damn fine film.
060903 18:44
forgot to post this when i first saw
it, but better late than never. mr
david 'angel' boreanaz selling a mercedes on ebay,
with added bonus of having 'a day out' with him.
starting price? $78,000... number of bids at closing?
erm, zero. even if it's a hoax, it's hilarious
- scroll right to the bottom for some classic
pix.
plus it seems those americans can't get
enough of bashing the french (it's the land of
love and damn fine music, leave those dudes alone!).
type 'french military victories' into google
and hit 'i'm feeling lucky'.

get past the garish design and check
out this site - the
global rich list calculator allows you to
enter your annual income and be shown exactly
where you sit in the grand financial scheme of
things. well worth a look. (thanks to miranda
for thee link)

no great surprise, but disappointing
to see the boy timberlake sign what is reported
to be a $6million
deal with mcdonalds for their first 'global
marketing campaign'. a sell-out too for the neptunes
who produced the track that is being used in 118
countries. the lure of the shiny cent has of course
seen many fall at its feet over the years (the
velvet underground and the clash spring
to mind) - but to sell your soul to the biggest
devil in the world? as bill hicks once said "i've
never seen balls of such magnitude!"

so fat planet went to
air for the first time last night on fbi 94.5fm
- and what a joy that was. for the full playlist,
