couple of outings this weekend - on saturday,
it's a double-header. from 6pm, i'll be guesting
on fbi's crate diggers once again,
playing some sweeeet ol' skool dance tunes from
1992 and 1993 (very specific, i know...). tune
into 94.5FM for that one.
following on, at some bewitching-style hour, i'll
be kicking out the jams at bing bang bong
with an hour long set entitled 'turning japanese'.
(everybody has a theme, not just me...) i reckon
you might catch the likes of puffy ami
yumi, shonen knife,
cibo matto, buffalo daughter,
cornelius, the boredoms
and their mates turning up in saturday's set.

before all that, on friday (4th), i won't be DJ-ing
as such, but i will guest-selector (or somesuch
other handle) at miTunes, sydney's
new iPod dj experienssss. i'll be plugging in
the pod around 9pm, playing back some dirty great
fat
planet tunes, crunchin' and bitchin' both
at the same time :-) sharing the pod(ium) that
night will be mr mark pritchard
from the jedi knights + fellow scot, the lovely
lorna. expect twisted electronica
from both.

my first big day out yesterday - although
combined with an australia day bar-b-q at matt
& jos' house, it was more a mini day out.

last night i DJed at the becks festival
bar, supporting DECODER RING and playing 'music
from films'. given my fat planet manifesto, i
opted for a world movies theme (if not, stretched

happy new year one and all - hope 2005
is a good one. for the first time since i was
a teenager, i brought in the new year sober. very
strange indeed and certainly not 'the scottish
way'. i certainly won't be doing that again in
a hurry. the reason being was that i elected to
do the live NYE radio show on FBi - from 10pm
til 1am. it was deathly quiet around the studio,
we don't really have 'posses' that can come in
a be funny at the drop of a hat, we're a little
more sophis that that :-) so it goes. bearing
in mind that it was 'party time' (excellent!),
the playlist was a little more accessible than
usual, and a mix of aussie / international too.

be at bondi pavillion (doon by the waaterrr!)
for 'flickerfest' with a special warp records
set, following the warp showcase at 6.45pm [more
