went to see tujiko noriko live at the gaelic club this week - and was just as good as expected. i was trying all night to tell myself that the description 'the japanese bjork' was just a lazy journalist tag, however it became apparent from the live performance that the shoe does actually fit and that she does bear a striking similarity to the icelandic one. here's what you can expect from her :::

been away for a much needed holiday, up to pacific palms (about 300km north of sydney). managed to reconnect with the notion of having nothing to do - what a freakin' joy! had one excursion into the pacific (well, one km off the coast at least...) to go scouring for dolphins (meaning looking for dolphins, rather than trying to clean them with a wire-mesh type cleaning product). it sounds incredibly new age, but being amongst a huge pack of dolphins in their natural habitat was quite stunning. i think it's time to get a litle blue dolphin tattoo and change my name to 'moonbeam'. pics of the little critters and more here.

(in the photolog you'll also find pics of me next to two of australia's 'big' things - odd, gigantic fibreglass structures that pop-up in the middle of nowhere, just to give weary travellers a chance to stop the car and go 'jesus, that's weird / funny / a complete waste of money'. witness 'the big rock' and 'the big oyster' here.)

before that, rob and i went with our dear friends phena & duncan to the innaugral good vibrations festival at centennial park. despite the outrageous queue outside the grounds, a good day was had by all - line-up included lee scratch perry, mad professor, asian dub foundation, blackalicious, moloko [all top quality sets] and there was of course much dancing, drinking + sunshine. below are pics of tom middleton and roisin from moloko.
more pics from good vibrations here.
