a beautiful looping, tumbling mix of traditional instrumentation, starting &amp; ending as neo-folk and dropping something entirely unique in the centre of the track. it&#8217;s taken from his most recent album &#8216;like a packed cupboard but quite&#8217;, on which didac is credited as playing balaphon, mbira, kalimba, melodica, chimes and &#8220;software&#8221;. of the tracks i&#8217;ve come across (including one on a recent wire sampler), many of them have a URL as the title, demanding an immediate search online for the subject &#8211; in this case, &#8220;brazil&#8217;s landless workers movement&#8221; (an english version can be found\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mstbrazil.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>). didac&#8217;s site with more real player samples is at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.oozebap.org\/renverse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">oozebap.org\/renverse<\/a>.<br \/>\n<strong>BLASTCORP<\/strong>\u00a0[AUSTRALIA]<br \/>\n<strong>stars never fall (dsico hack)<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/lukecollison.com\/remixes\/blastcorp_stars_never_fall_(dsico_hack).mp3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mp3<\/a><br \/>\nself-titled &#8220;no talent hack&#8221;\u00a0<strong>dsico<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; one of australia&#8217;s long-serving new breed of producers, remixers, songwriters &#8211; has dug up a few unreleased gems from his archives and served them to us on a nice shiny platter.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/4trak.net\/dsico\/index.php?cat=16\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">click for those<\/a>, plus a few other mp3s from back in the day (including his bizarre\u00a0<strong>rage against the machine<\/strong>\u00a0cover). his\u00a0<strong>blastcorp<\/strong>\u00a0mix is by far the best of the mxs on offer, a new-wave makeover adding a generous 4\/4, 80s handclaps, driving bass and a gorgeous wall of noise towards the climax. tidy work. as for\u00a0<strong>blastcorp<\/strong>, he&#8217;s darwin-based kris keogh &#8211; a new release is due on the excellent\u00a0<strong>city centre offices<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.city-centre-offices.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">label<\/a>\u00a0very soon. more\u00a0<strong>blastcorp<\/strong>\u00a0downloads\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.blastcorp.com\/downloads_fr.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<br \/>\n<strong>MRS PILGRIMM<\/strong>\u00a0[ENGLAND]<br \/>\n<strong>the love i don&#8217;t show<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hinterhoff.com\/music\/mrs_pilgrimm\/love%20i%20don%27t%20show.MP3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mp3<\/a><br \/>\n<strong>gotta gotta get down<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hinterhoff.com\/music\/mrs_pilgrimm\/gotta%20get%20down.MP3\">mp3<\/a><br \/>\n<strong>mrs pilgrimm<\/strong>, aka sophie williams, is a cellist by trade who has a long history with\u00a0<strong>lou barlow<\/strong>, is featured on michael rother&#8217;s (<strong>neu!<\/strong>) new album and has a remix disc ready to drop featuring the talents of sonic boom (<strong>spacemen 3<\/strong>) &amp; j peter scwalmm (<strong>brian eno<\/strong>). a cursory click on the above mp3s gives an instant flavour &#8211; a bare, stripped back sound wherein sophie exploits all possible aspects of the cello as an instrument (the fact that you rarely hear straight &#8216;bowed&#8217; cello is telling). the vocal, an unashamed south england drawl, harks to the more casual aspects of\u00a0<strong>bjork<\/strong>&#8216;s performance and not nearly as annoying as our other favourite little pixie,\u00a0<strong>joanna newsom<\/strong>. more info and other mp3s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mrspilgrimm.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<br \/>\n<strong>new kids on the blog:\u00a0<\/strong>it&#8217;s a fat planet indeed &#8211;
