\nIn this podcast from September 2010, I talk to Canberra artist, label manager and promoter\u00a0SHOEB AHMAD, and his regular collaborator EVAN DORRIAN.
\nSHOEB has, for quite some time, been one of the key voice of dissent in the city of Canberra – single-handledly staging an inexhaustible series of experimental music events, managing the renowned\u00a0HelloSquare record label and producing music, both as a solo producer and as one half of SPARTAK<\/strong>, with EVAN DORRIAN. As drummer, producer and sound artist, EVAN is additionally a core member of POLLEN TRIO and released his debut self-titled solo release in 2009.
\nIn Sydney for a local show with THE GHOST OF 29 MEGACYCLES and THE INFINITY ROOM, Shoeb & Evan chatted\u00a0about the then recent SPARTAK album ‘Verona’, as well as upcoming records on HelloSquare,\u00a0and Shoeb’s role as the first guest curator of the New Weird Australia compilation series, with the forthcoming\u00a0release ‘The Sound Of Young Canberra’.
