Champeta is a bastard hybrid of a dictionary of genres: highlife, afrobeat, zouk, cumbia, soca, calypso &#8211; and undoubtedly dozens more &#8211; and can be found throughout Colombia&#8217;s Caribbean coast. For its trance rebirth, &#8216;<strong>El Pulpo<\/strong>&#8216; fires up decades-old Casio keyboards and drum machines and a liberal sherbert dib dab of old rave samples.
