{"id":38,"date":"2008-11-11T02:14:35","date_gmt":"2008-11-11T02:14:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/discontentblog.com\/?p=38"},"modified":"2021-01-31T22:48:25","modified_gmt":"2021-01-31T22:48:25","slug":"tremor-viajante-remix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stuartbuchanan.com\/archives\/2008\/11\/11\/tremor-viajante-remix\/","title":{"rendered":"Tremor | Viajante (Remix)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;ve seen Japanese baile funk and Portuguese kuduro &#8211; here&#8217;s another genre displaced from its homeland: Australian Cumbia.  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/cumbiacosmonauts\">The Cumbia Cosmonauts<\/a> may be based in Melbourne, but they have deep links back to Mexico via a long-standing creative relationship with the Nortec Collective and other artists in Tijuana (see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/melbournetijuana\">myspace.com\/melbournetijuana<\/a> for details).  The Australian collective have launched a series of &#8216;sessions&#8217; titled &#8220;This Is Tijuana!&#8221; in Melbourne, starting recently with a  local premiere screening of the documentary &#8216;Tijuana Remix&#8217;.  The latin connection continues with this remix of Argentinean producer, Leonardo Martinell, aka <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/thesoundoftremor\">Tremor<\/a>, whose new album of the same name is released this month via Los A\u00f1os Luz and who recently toured North America as part of the 2008 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zzkclub.com\/\">Zizek<\/a> tour.
