It can be perceived as a serpent enveloping itself, where the past (the tail) appears to disappear but really moves into an inner domain or reality, vanishing from view but still existing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>PRELUDE <\/i>is the ouroboros of <b>Heartswin<\/b>, the former designation for <b>Sar Friedman<\/b>, the antecedent of <b>Medicine Voice<\/b>. It is a record that doubles as the final chapter of this mythological journey, ending at the beginning, the ancestral foundations of the 2016 <b>Medicine Voice<\/b> album <i>I And Thou<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Says Sar: \u201c<i>Prelude is very much a catharsis.. it\u2019s all come full circle&#8230;endings and beginnings.. endings as beginnings\u2026 sanctifying the cyclic nature of all things\u2026\u00a0 it\u2019s been important for me, on many levels, to properly release these songs \u2026 a gesture of completion, to honour the once-upon-a-time moments &amp; people that so powerfully shaped the \u2018heartswin-medicine voice\u2019 mythos \u2026 to send my love and gratitude\u2026. and also to set myself free again\u2026 \u00a0because now, finally.. I feel like I can really just move the fuck on&#8230;.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">We start in Seattle and an introduction from <b>Oren Ambarchi <\/b>leads Sar Friedman to the venerable <b>Randall Dunn<\/b> (<b>Sunn O)))<\/b>, <b>Boris<\/b>), who produces three of the tracks on this EP. Surrounding Sar are an outstanding collection of players: <b>Don McGreevy<\/b> (<b>Earth<\/b>), <b>Milky Burgess<\/b> (<b>Marissa Nadler<\/b>, <b>Master Musicians Of Bukkake<\/b>) and <b>Hans Teuber<\/b>; a shared experience that triggered the earliest moments of metamorphosis into <b>Medicine Voice<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">We end in London, with the epic 18-minute work <i>Tammuz<\/i>, recorded a year earlier and here signalling the culmination of an eight-year life in the city.
