{"id":13131,"date":"2004-08-10T16:58:34","date_gmt":"2004-08-10T06:58:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stuartbuchanan.com\/?p=13131"},"modified":"2021-01-31T05:11:32","modified_gmt":"2021-01-31T05:11:32","slug":"new-bastard-pop-bootlegs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stuartbuchanan.com\/archives\/2004\/08\/10\/new-bastard-pop-bootlegs\/","title":{"rendered":"New Bastard Pop Bootlegs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>went on a bootleg hunt on sunday night. been a while since i&#8217;d had some new &#8216;bastard pop&#8217; and i was keen to see how the scene had moved on in the last few months. so here&#8217;s what i found, mostly all of which is from the uk :::<br \/>\n<strong>JOOLS the j-lo end theory<\/strong>\u00a0[<a href=\"http:\/\/www.joolsmf.co.uk\/MP3ii.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">site<\/a>]<br \/>\nit&#8217;s no secret, i hate\u00a0<strong>j-lo<\/strong>\u00a0with a passion, but this is probably the only piece of music i&#8217;ve heard where i can actually bear to listen to her. porbably because this is a mix of\u00a0<strong>j-lo<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>dj shadow<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>chris isaak<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; done to great effect. jools, i salute you &#8211; actually making j-lo palatable!<br \/>\n<strong>ZIMEN pump up the rapture<\/strong>\u00a0[<a href=\"http:\/\/gybo.proboards4.com\/index.cgi?board=general&amp;action=display&amp;num=1091921580\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">site<\/a>]<br \/>\napparently this is only\u00a0<strong>zimen<\/strong>&#8216;s 2nd bootleg, which makes the results even more amazing &#8211; a tight beat-for-beat splicing of &#8216;house of jealous lovers&#8217; with\u00a0<strong>MARRS<\/strong>&#8216; &#8216;pump up the volume&#8217;. probably my favourite boot for a while and destined to find its way into one of my dj sets before long.<br \/>\n<strong>LIONEL l.s.f.
