Perhaps their best known export is\u00a0<strong>Pussy Riot<\/strong>, who rode to international attention on a wave of anti-Putin sentiment clad in balaclavas, smashing the oligarchy, patriarchy or any other kind of hierarchy they could stomp their boots on.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"ng-scope\">There\u2019s also <strong>tATu<\/strong>, who, despite sounding more like Alvin &amp; The Chipmunks than dear Stephen Morrissey, produced a cover version of The Smiths\u2019 \u2018How Soon Is Now\u2019 that to this day clings on to a special place in my heart.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ng-scope\"><a href=\"http:\/\/doublej.net.au\/news\/features\/hear-russia-s-finest-shoegaze-coldwave-and-stoner-metal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Over on the Double J website<\/a>,\u00a0I&#8217;ve taken a couple of small steps to\u00a0redress such those misconceptions\u00a0with a choice selection of\u00a0new Russian artists., including <strong>Life On Venus<\/strong> (pictured), <strong>Lunar Funeral<\/strong>, <strong>Delicate Features<\/strong> and <strong>Angelic Milk<\/strong>.
