\nUnpopular Music<\/strong>\u00a0returned to Sydney on\u00a0Saturday December 17th 2011<\/strong>, raising cash for FBi and featuring eight bands over two venues.\u00a0Unpopular Music 2011<\/strong>\u00a0saw four of Sydney\u2019s underground & experimental music promoters working together for the first time \u2013\u00a0New Weird Australia, Octopus Pi, Sound Series<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Refraction<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 staging two shows in one evening.
\nThe late show (9pm) at Dirty Shirlows in Marrickville featured Brisbane psych-rock ex-pats\u00a0Strange Forces\u00a0<\/strong>(back on Aussie soil after tearing up a storm in Berlin over the last two years), Sydney drone-grunge four piece\u00a0Zeahorse<\/strong>, former Brisbane residents\u00a0Secret Birds\u00a0<\/strong>(one of the last artists, and few Australians, to feature on Pitchfork\u2019s now defunct Altered Zones blog) and\u00a0Scattered Order<\/strong>(fully re-energised and at a new creative peak, following the addition of Shane Fahey to the lineup earlier this year).
\nAt 6pm, the early show at Hardware saw\u00a0Thomas William<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Scissor Lock<\/strong>\u00a0launch their debut collaborative album \u2018Jewelz<\/em>\u2018, with support from Melbourne\u2019s\u00a0Monlith<\/strong>,\u00a0Und<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Anna Chase<\/strong>.\u00a0The event also featured DJs\u00a0Paul Gough<\/strong>\u00a0(Pimmon),\u00a0Jack Shit<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Octopus Pi<\/strong>, with a \u2018Magical Audio Tour\u2019 between venues.
