Ahm creates evocative dance-floor oriented music, combining rich textural elements with intricate rhythmic interplay that draws from industrial techno, experimental electronic music and drum & bass. Why I Let You is Ahm’s second solo release after many years of working with a range of Melbourne acts including Huntly, Gregor, Lalić and Arrom.
Why I Let You is the closing chapter of Ahm’s explorations of caring for someone who hurts you, and recognising how this shapes one’s identity and self-worth. The songs serve as a personal and therapeutic means of examining the dynamics of such a relationship and embody a practice of self-prioritisation.
Released 28 June 2019 on Cassette and Digital.
