efterklang‘s ‘tripper’ from 2004 is a gorgeous album for any enthusiast of both the epic and the understated – glitch lower-case electronica mixed with anthemic choral productions. scandanavia may well be over-run with a glut of icy, electronic projects, but efterklang effortlessly rises to the top of the pile.
the band has just relaunched their web site – efterklang.net – and it’s a treat for fans and newcomers alike. to celebrate the launch, they’ve posted a cover of ‘step aside’ (originally found on ‘tripper’) by swedish musician tobias hellkvist. there’s also the beautiful ‘antenne’ version of ‘swarming’, a couple of mp3s from other releases and a large library of video content, including some unofficial / fan flicks. top it all off with artwork from nan na vas, and you have quite a tidy little package.
