i can’t remember at which point online games became such an integral part of an artist’s music release schedule, but everyone seems to be at it. only yesterday i had the misfortune to ruin three minutes of my life on chingy’s online poker game (i know, the signs were all there…).
the knife have given us the decidedly odd scissors game, used to promote ‘we share our mothers health’. maybe it’s a mac thing, but i cannot fathom this game at all. even when catching the tomatoes, i’m left for dead. still, i adore the aesthetic (above) and could watch the promo video all day long. [update: the video for the knife’s next single ‘like a pen’ is now online]
lady sovereign‘s hoodie game isn’t the greatest pacman variant, but it has its own cute appeal. that might be due to the fact that i love sov with bells on, and the thought of controlling her on a shoplifting(ish) spree made me blush with anticipation.
i’m going to submit a shocking example of self-promotion here – my hot little favourite online promo game comes from goldfrapp. my wife built it, so of course it’s bloody awesome. especially the part where, upon your untimely death, you’re taken to the operating room to witness alison’s head being replaced with that of a poddle. ‘pooch and tuck’ is the game and you can check it here.
the daddy of all timewasters comes courtesy of infinite wheel – essentially allowing you to spend hours creating your own excursions in dub with the simple click of a mouse. skin up and hit the mouse – you won’t leave your home for a week.
although this isn’t a game, i feel it should become one: bjork streetfighter…
