mp3: CLARK & BROADCAST herr bar (reinterpretation / improvisation)
last time we heard from chris clark (now simply ‘clark‘) was the 2003 warp album ’empty the bones of you’ – a dirty, angular electronic record, beautifully fucked up and a far cry from the warmer tones of his 2001 debut ‘clarence park’. february’s ‘throttle furniture’ ep served as a precursor to his third full release, ‘body riddle’, and proved that clark has lost none of his slippery touches, sliding effortlessly from glitch-strewn hip-hop to heavy plaid-like electro and jazz-ridden dubstep.
as a further taster for the album release, clark has set up throttleclark.com, a mini site that will feature three exclusive mp3s. starting with this unique improvised collaboration with label mates, broadcast – a beatless abstract piece that offers another clue as to the myriad of directions that clark is moving into. two more mp3s to follow on the site next month.
