THE KNIFE [SWEDEN]

mov: THE KNIFE silent shout
thanks to pink robot sushi (via guava maffiosa), here’s the knife‘s latest absurdist video clip, based on a charles burns graphic novel called ‘black hole’. i love burns’ work – always bordering on the wrong size of creepy alien americana – so it’s a sweet treat to find his ideas lodged deep inside knife-world.
the new knife album (also entitled ‘silent shout’) drops next month, but if you can’t wait that long you can buy it legally on mp3 through the knife’s mp3 shop. i did just that, and let me tell you – if you loved the darker side of ‘deep cuts’ – you’ll freak out over this release. it’s simply astonishing; eleven tracks of warped, disturbing electronica liberally sprinkled with dark magic, brusied pop melodies and a pitch black sense of humour – without doubt an early contender for an album of the year slot. the next single is tipped to be ‘we share our mothers health’ – the hard bastard offspring of ‘you take my breath away’. preview the whole album on this ecard.
